Butler Glowing fungi are found in tropical forests around the world. They are common enough that their bioluminescence has a term: foxfire. This particular mushroom, found along the Kinabatangan in the state of Sabah in Malaysian Borneo, is likely a species of Mycena, more than 30 types of which are known to be bioluminescent.
